Visit to the Future Health and Community Centre of Excellence
Chris James, our Executive Director and Sue Logan, our General Manager Skills & Employment attended an information session and tour of the Health and Community Centre of Excellence (HaCCoE) at Kangan Institute’s Broadmeadows campus. The CoE’s completion date is planned for late 2024 with classes commencing from Semester 1, 2025.
The information session and tour provided an insight into what an exciting opportunity this will provide in shaping the future of vocational health and community training in Australia and beyond, tailored for students, staff, community, and industry partners. The Centre of Excellence will deliver high-quality health and community training and give students access to state-of-the-art facilities focusing on applied learning. The training programs will focus on promoting situational awareness through simulation-based learning and realistic scenarios, and the equipment will allow students to learn via guided and immersive real-life experiences. Upon completing their training and certification course, students will be able to make the transition to many different job roles and workplaces that are in high demand.
A range of health and community services courses will be delivered at this new facility, and more information can be found on Kangan Institute’s website.
Thank you to Ian Said, Broadmeadows Campus Director and his team for the amazing opportunity to tour the facility during its construction phase.
Whilst we are still cleaning the mud from our shoes, it truly was worth it as this tour made you realise just how proud we all should be of what Melbourne’s north is achieving.
