The Victorian State Budget has addressed a number of infrastructure needs we have highlighted in our Northern Horizons infrastructure document and also the North West Melbourne City Deal proposal:
- $101m to deliver world-class facilities for Matildas, Football Victoria and Rugby Centre of Excellence at La Trobe University (part of the $5 billion La Trobe University Redevelopment)
- $60m for Kangan Institute redevelopment at Broadmeadows (part of Broadmeadows Revitalisation)
- New local mental health services at Whittlesea and new mental health beds at Thomas Embling Hospital, Fairfield
- Funding for community hospitals in Craigieburn, Eltham, Mernda and Sunbury
- New schools in areas of high population growth
- emergency department paediatric investment at Northern Health
- investment in outer North road network
- Creative Neighbourhoods program funding for the Brunswick Design District
