  • Changes to the $23 million Incubator Support initiative announced yesterday

Yesterday, the Assistant Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science, The Hon Craig Laundy MP announced changes to the $23 million Incubator Support initiative.

The changes follow a 2017 Budget announcement that the Incubator Support initiative would be expanded to reflect the importance the Australian Government places on regional development.  Building on the current initiative, the changes will provide greater support to regional start-ups by improving the capabilities of regional incubators and accelerators.

The changes include the addition of regional incubator facilitators, more generous grant percentages for incubator projects in regional areas and increased grant amounts to build incubator capability.

The Incubator Support initiative is part of the Entrepreneurs’ Programme and contributes to the continued implementation of the Government’s National Innovation and Science Agenda (NISA).

Information sessions outlining the changes to the initiative will be held in several regional locations and a national webinar will also be delivered for potential applicants in early 2018.
