NORTH Link’s Northern Industry Student Placement Program (NISPP) connects local businesses with tertiary students from tertiary institutions so that organisations benefit from new expertise and students gain valuable workplace experience.

Kangan Institute in Broadmeadows is seeking placements for its Diploma of Community Services students, who have knowledge and skills across a broad range of community service tasks.

Areas of interest: case management, family services, community health services, residential and social housing, child protection, youth services, neighbourhood houses and community hubs, community development, drug and alcohol services, asylum seeker/ refugee support services, disability services (non-personal care), community legal centres.

Commencement dates: Flexible

NISPP connects local businesses with tertiary students from La Trobe University and RMIT University so that businesses benefit from new expertise and students gain valuable workplace experience.

  • Engineering – requirements: supervision and mentoring from a relevant higher education qualified engineer on site. Positions can be paid or unpaid, 10 weeks full time or part time equivalent (RMIT). Or paid $11,000 6 months full time (La Trobe).
  • Cyber security – requirements: supervision and mentoring from a relevant higher education qualified person on site. Positions can be paid or unpaid, 12 weeks part time or full time.
  • Data science/analytics – requirements: supervision and mentoring from a relevant higher education qualified or experienced person on site. Positions are generally unpaid, 12 weeks part time.
  • Computer science/IT – requirements: supervision and mentoring from a relevant higher education qualified person on site. Positions must be paid, 20 weeks full time (RMIT) or min 12 weeks full time (La Trobe).
