Eddy Boscariol, General Manager of Melbourne’s North Food Group (MNFG) and Xin Tan, Business Development Senior Advisor, Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Educational Partnerships) at La Trobe University, jointly organised and delivered two highly successful Australian Chinese Business Community Bus Tours. The tours included visits to the business, where attendees observed the production facility, listened to presentations by company representatives, and had the opportunity to sample and purchase products.

The first tour was held on Tuesday, 23 April 2024 and had a total of 47 people visit the following MNFG food manufacturers:

The Original Juice Company 
Wine In A Glass
That’s Amore Cheese and
Mr Sausage

The tour participants sampled 100% Australian premium black-labelled juices and several wellness drinks, the innovative pre-filled premium Australian wine in a glass, artisan quality 100% natural cheeses, and a variety of tasty sausages.

Dr Jie Liu from the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) said, “The feedback from the group has been overwhelmingly positive. I have also received an overall 5-star rating for this event regarding quality, experience, and willingness to participate in future factory visits.”

The second tour was held on 9 August 2024 and had a total of 31 people visit the following MNFG food manufacturers:

Procal Dairies and
Wonder Pies

The tour participants sampled high quality Italian biscuits and cakes, yogurts and the Melbourne’s most sought after handcrafted pies and sausage rolls.

A total of 78 attendees found the tours very informative and all businesses involved were happy to host the tour as they saw it extremely beneficial to increase brand awareness, increase sales to Chinese community and to increase future export revenues.

The third tour was held on Thursday 10 October 2024  at the Shire of Mitchell and had a total of 25 people visit the following MNFG food manufacturers:

McIvor Farms
McIvor Wine Estate
The Meat Room

The tour participants sampled the food and beverage produces in Mitchell like – the Berkshire pork farm, wine and salami.
